First game on this website and I already LOVE everything about it. Your game has single handedly made this website amazing!
My only feed back would be to maybe add something special around the non-common enemies to make it more noticeable for the player. My first play-through I had died to the enemies that pierce armour and was confused how I died until the second game where I realised that it was a special enemy.
The only problem now is that: It's too easy to win if you don't play with fire intentionally; however, once you play a little bit of fire, it has surging negative effects and is impossible to win.
The final boss is broken with 100 damage and 100 HP, but could be killed by 2 hits (67+33) without any weapons in the first try, which makes the design a joke. It is not even harder than several monsters appear at the same time, which catch you off guard. Since you know you are 100% winable or 100% unwinable when you see the boss, it is not special anymore. You only got a hopeless defeat or a complete victory. I am not very sure whether the design of 100 damage is good or bad, but I think the difficulty of the final boss could be adjusted based on the player's strength. Like, the final boss could turn over the enemy card, or the final boss could also turn down the card itself, or even he could use cards in his venue.
Nice game. Awesome game. Make it much longer and larger. Only 30 floors are not enough for me. Looking forward to your game.
The most annoying debuff is the one that hides all card stats and i have not found a way to remove this with a card so far, i dont know if ive overlooked a card, havent found this specific card, or if this is a supposed feature of your game.
vampire is very op because of how common enmies are and food just pops up slightly too for the knight, i like it hard but it feels too dependent luck with food drops once you get the knight
things i have acomplished:
beating the game one shotting the boss with berserk (1/104 hp) excaping with werewolf pet
suggestions i have:
1. putting creatures in the shop, i understand if you dont want this to become a pokamon game but also i dont see why not 2. a character based on using creatures to put on top of that ether a necromancer or someone who can catch monsters, maybe even starting with a dog and one of those books 3. separate some spell books into items? like you could have invisibility that makes it so monsters don't attack unless attacked for 3 turns orrr a smoke bomb that dose the same thing 4. enemies could drop gold and sometimes animals can drop food? this would solve the knights main problem the vampire still heals from everyone alive but i dont see why a boar or a wolf couldn't be chopped up and cooked some monsters like bosses could hide something ove more value like a strong weapon like a dagger that leaches hp or the door insted of needing a key 5. just because its what im abscessed with it can there be a naga character? i love it when there's a monster as playable character (i already know about the vampire but yk) and it can't hurt to ask for a snakey boi :3 idk how this would be balanced but simple 3 features everyone gives to a snake charator 1 venom 2 hypnotic eyes 3 coiling or at least something to do with that tail you do whatever you want with that 6. inventory feels small, this is fine its part of the game but a passive abilty item like a backpack, pouch or bag of holding would be very nice, and it would be very nice if you could eat food and collect gold without needing to destroy a weapon for 3 gold 7. instead of difficulties make just make different effects, preferably 1 good 1 bad for each dungeon but change it up with some only bad and with a few super hard ones, its more fun to have difaculties that change how you play the game and add more instead of just easy is better luck hard is worse luck as well as a endless mode but if you add easy and hard into each then thats ok i just would rather the ice caves, fey woods and crystal abyss over hard mode
Seconded, food is scarcer for the knight. I think food should be a guaranteed choice, perhaps, for those floors where you pick between 3 cards like weapon/armor/spell?
the bosses and generally just the last few rooms seem a bit overtuned, i dont really have any trouble staying at full health for like half an hour but then in the last few rooms you seem to need a lot more luck to prevent stuff like suddenly being overrun by a random noise trap triggering a horde of enemies that take all your hp in 3 turns or something though i did get a successful run with the vampire
great game! but i think maybe we need some cards or abilities to cancel the debuffs? in one of my run i didnt notice the stress and i got a debuff which make me cannot see the value of cards (its name is blind? i dnt remeber) under this debuff i think no body can survive 🤔
I don't know if it's helpful or relevant but I do have multiple monitors and I think I originally set the program to fullscreen with alt-enter before changing the setting in the menu.
took me about 5 days of 2/3 hour sessions to beat! what an epic game! can't wait to buy it upon its release. I hope you add more items and some other cool options. 10/10 demo.
This is really cool! I like this a lot! I like it so much that I'm gonna make a video of me playing this cool game!
Oh and I saw a bug? I think it has something to do with the hitbox, Idunno if it was only on my end, but at the resolution 640 x 480, when I press the right button to select a different character/avatar it hits the add to wishlist (steam). A very minor bug? but then again it could just be on my end.

Really love this so far - can't wait for the full release. I think a few of the mechanics could use explanation (like how specifically Divine Light works, how using armor as the knight works).
This is fun but I gotta be real. These numbers are unbalanced, at least for the knight. I've gotten to floor 10 and haven't used a single healing item.
Not sure if you played before the last update. It was even easier before to stack armour. I got to 100+, but now armour gets consumed with Divine Light and this is a good balancing. Sure, health potions are not that useful with Knights, but for Vampires are for sure very good. You can still have situations where Health Potions would save you even as a Knight though.
besides the divne light, you changed the attacking without weapons again you also changed the math for the weapon now i have to take 2 hits for a 5 when i have a same number. i dont feel balanced anymore. im no good i guess
The attacking without weapons did not change. The math for the weapons didn't change too. Or describe in more detail what you mean. Sorry but I don't understand :(
I need some help as I do not understand how Divine Light works in the newest version. It makes no sense to me the way it consumes my armour. If I use it repeatedly on two enemies with the same stats, it consumes different armour. Sometimes it consumes more armour than the emeny HP (e.g. 7 armour consumed on a 3-3), sometimes less (e.g. 2 armour consumed on 4 enemies, no artifacts to increase armour). It seems totally random now. I really like the game and I am sure Divine Light was OP in the old versions, but this new mechanic is just a frustrating mistery for me...
Isn't that part of the knight's thing though? Essentially, you can add armor on top of armor, but the added armor is halved (if odd, you get the extra point)?
It'd be really nice if the flavor text of enemies hints whether they're living or undead (since both knight and vampire abilities care about that), OR they had some sort of icon indicator, say a skull or leaf in the bottom left of the card.
The sounds of your game are very satisfying? Could you tell me if you made them yourself/used a certain sfx pack? It would help a fellow dev out immensely.. thanks..

The balance is not final and will be revised. And in the full version of the game, the bosses will be more dangerous and diverse :)
how do you get rid of debuffs in the game?

After casting the spell, you lose half of your current armor. It doesn't depend on the number of enemies or anything else.

Yes, that's right, a knight gets 50% armor if he already has armor.
