Hey, I finally got the ball rolling with Knight!

I managed to snag around 100 armor by the end and 1-shot him with my ability. I DID want to do another test to see if Scouting instakilling yourself was a bug or not. It was the Orc(?) boss that gets stronger overtime, but obviously he wasn't really able to do that, lol. I don't really have much to say on what balance should be changed or not. Though hunger becomes a non-issue once you've stacked armor to that point, so maybe that? One suggestion though, I would absolutely looove a summoner/necromancer-type class that relies on captured enemy cards to do damage rather than weapon cards! Another question, is the art all your own work, or did you work with/commission an artist for them? It really does fit the game well.

Congratulations!:)

The Necromancer class will be in the full game. Yes, this boss orc increases attack, but the boss balance will be reworked.

The artists who drew can be viewed in the credits, there are links to their profiles.

Thought I was the boss, then I learned who's the actual boss. I was not the boss.

Will play again, great game!

Edit:

Wishlisting on steam,

Thanks!

hahaha...don't worry, sooner or later you will become the boss:)

Sweet victory

Great! Congratulations:)

Wishlisted on Steam! Awesome game, although I don't even have much love for the card game genre. Hope you will build more levels, stages, etc.

Thanks!

I will try not to disappoint you :)

The game is really interesting and fun to play, but I noticed some problems.

The hunger bar is an interesting idea, as a mechanic that punishes players who turn over all the cards in a row, but since there is no way to know the position of the exit, enemies, etc. (without using cards) the hunger becomes impossible to avoid and starts to feel unfair. If there was a way to calculate approximately the position of certain cards like in Minesweeper then the player would be faced with the choice of thinking and avoiding most of the fights or tanking it. Smoke bombs have the same problem, if you come across one it is potentially game over and it is impossible to avoid them

Thank you for your feedback!

To solve all these problems, you need to use the found cards correctly:)

There are times when you just don't get lucky, but this is a roguelike, so it happens:)

That's so fun!

Thanks!

A very cool and polished game. Really enjoyed it even though Im not even these types of games. Keep it up

Thank you 😊

Cool Game!

Thanks!

Such a simple game concept, but still lots of fun! Would be really cool, if you guys idk made a map of a dungeon that is randomly generated every round you play. Good job!

(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!

We'll think about the map if the players ask us to :)

Great little game got to level 26, but the monsters got me! I knew i should have stocked up on more weapons! I didn't understand the stress mechanic it didn't seem like it did anything.

Oh, you were so close to winning :(

(+1)

The devs did a great job. The gameplay loop is simple and fun, but I missed opportunities for choice while playing — something like picking the path I want to take. Maybe more doors to choose from, or even a map showing the player what’s ahead.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'll think about what I can do.

.

👍

hey there ! added on the wishlist , kinda my game genre :3 , the art is awesome and animation very smooth , for now i feel like the items and enemy are balance , sure can happen that you can have bad luck but is the fun of the roguelite ! a thing maybe is the hunger i always wanted to find that because i was always very low on that , even if i need to choose for every room 1 of 3 items , i will always grab food , maybe because i did few run but broo if i was starving in every room eheh

(+2)

Thanks for the feedback!

We will try to balance everything as much as possible :)

It's a simple game concept but ended up being way more fun than I expected.  Lost track of time playing it!  Beautiful pixel art and really unique items.

Thanks for the feedback!

This is really fun. The art and sound are very satisfying.

Thank you!

this game was very well put together, the sound design was great as well, however, I think a bit of a tutorial is needed, nothing crazy just something that explains the ui.

Thanks for the feedback!

Tutorial in development

Thats good to hear. good luck with your game's development!!!!!

^ this first playable build 15.04.2024

I developed the same game in 2024 )))

I've never seen your game before, but I agree that the gameplay mechanics are similar:)

Amazing game spent 37 mins to beat it with the knight! Some guidance on the Floor 1-2 may be of some help - rather than drag and drop, I tried clicking the card and the enemy and was confused initially. Would buy full version!

Thanks for the feedback!

Tutorial in development

Good game!

Thanks!

Mr 4Cats Sir, would you mind updating the android export to include x86 so I can play it on an android emulator (,,>﹏<,,)

(+1)

I'll try to update the build this weekend

(+1)

Updated!:)

works !

Good!

(+1)

Pretty addictive! Controls are intuitive too!!

Thanks!

(1 edit) (+1)

Awesome !! Its just the bg music makes me irritating, when i play the game for a long time

(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!

You can change the volume of music/sounds in the settings:)

"Scouting" is the most dangerous card, I just died instantly from 8 monsters, lol. It needs to be used with the monster revealing card, then used to reveal all the other item and exit cards.

(+1)

Yes, it's dangerous. But there is a card that turns all monsters face down. Or a character's skill. Or try clicking on the open noise trap if it open with all cards (this is still a hidden mechanic, I'm not sure if someone used it :))

Or clear half the board, enough you can handle remaining monsters

Scouting is definitely one of my favorite cards both to save on food, and to easily curb stomp the final boss.

Great game, but how do I save my progress?

Android platform

(+1)

There is nothing to save at the moment)

But there will be a meta-session in the full version, so the saves will be there

Great game!

Thank you!

Very fun game!

Thank you!

Is Scouting supposed to instantly kill you if you use it on the final floor?

Perhaps after opening the cards, the boss dealt fatal damage

Yeah vampire definitely feels like bullying the final boss lmao

(+1)

Definitely something needs to be done with this large amount of gold;)

nuuuu! my dragon hoard! lol

(+1)

😂

Tru

But I just dealt 50 damage with my skill

I do dislike how some cards are direct upgrades of others, like enchantment is to execution (kills enemy + gains meatshield, vs kills enemy while losing 1 HP)

do they have different rarities? They seem to cost the same in shop, at least.

(+1)

I'll see what I can do. Most likely, the price of the cards in the store will be changed

Been playing it a bunch. Vampire definitely feels far, far, far stronger than the knight (stress heal when full, maybe more loot due to food not spawning, and ability 3-shotting the boss if you save it until the end).

I would suggest buffing the knight so that a 2nd armor card gives 75%, or 100% of the value, and removing vampire's stress heal.

That said, the game's balance is in a pretty great spot right now (challenging when you start, fairly consistent to beat once you know what you're doing, low/no frustration towards RNG outside your control).

addendum: the three bosses seem decent,

[spoiler]

. . .

[spoiler below:]

seems like the boss that deals 5 dmg consistently is fairly balanced. The boss that grows to do 8 dmg feels a bit weak and maybe should grow in damage further, maybe it deals +1 turn every turn it's not taken out.

Can't really tell how strong the 100 dmg boss is, the indicator for when it attacks is unintuitive or nonexistent. Either it's a cakewalk taken down in three turns as vampire, or it's a decent struggle as the knight to survive the first hit, preferably with iron hoof + armor.

addendum 2: disappointed that iron hoof doesn't work on vitality increase cards. That would have been pretty fun.

(+1)

Thank you for such a great review!

The balance will still be fixed, this is not the final version :)

(+1)

woow amazing game really enjoy and understand everything very fast

(+1)

I am very glad that you figured it out without the tutorial, because it is still in development

really enjoyed this game, such a simple concept but done really well!

Haven’t played anything like it before so it was a new one for me.

Looking forward to the full release!

Thank you for your feedback and waiting for the full version!

(+1)

Really great game! My first run with the knight ended at floor 16, but the second with the vampire I managed to beat, although it was really close (if I didn't get berserk and rest in the shop before the boss I'd be dead).

I can't wait to see what kind of updates you release for this game, it has great potential! Wishlisted on Steam <3

Vampire is DEFINITELY easier than knight, due to the stress recovery mechanic.  (and the bite mechanic 3-shotting the boss if you save it and only use it on the boss) And also more loot because food doesn't spawn? (not sure)

I agree, the game's quite nice.

(+2)

But the knight seems easier to me:)

Thanks for the feedback! I will try to make more interesting mechanics in the full version.

(+1)

Really, really good stuff. Captures the feel of blobbers in a different setting, and it's nice to have a card game that isn't an RLDB. Wishlisted.

(+2)

Thanks!

(+2)

Balatro type of game haha

(+2)

Oh, if only :)

The game is really fun and entertaining!

At the end, I had to fight a boss with 100 damage and 100 HP. I would’ve lost if I didn’t have two Berserk cards and only 6/64 HP left on my character.

Honestly, it’s a great game to spend some time with. I’ll be keeping an eye out for updates and will recommend it to some friends so they can try it too

(+2)

Thank you for your feedback!

I'm glad you enjoyed it and had a great time:)

(+1)

hi! ive just found this game-- really good stuff. i wanted to ask, is the browser version any different from the installable version?

(+1)

Hi!

There is no difference between the versions. Versions were created so that everyone can choose what they want

Quite fun! Definitely needs a few mini-bosses or stuff, difficulty curve seems too linear.

OR change it so that there's only 15 or 20 levels, the game is a little too long for the few new mechanics introduced.

Would be also nice to buy a card/inventory slot for 20-30 gold also.

I tend to have 30+ gold by the ends of runs just awkwardly sitting there, lol.

(+1)

Thanks for your feedback and ideas!

Meta progression is currently under development. The balance will also be changed!

(1 edit) (+1)

Hi! I just started the game (browser build) for the very first time (version 0.3), but I have localization issues and when I click the first button (which should be "play" I guess) the game does not start.

I see this error in the browser inspector when the play button is clicked:

KeyNotFoundException: Language not found: Italian

   at Assets.SimpleLocalization.cl.zm (System.String a)

[0x00000] in <00000000000000000000000000000000>:0

(+2)

Hi!  I'm sorry about this bug:(

I'll fix it within an hour

(+2)

Fixed!

(+1)

Great, I confirm that it works now.
Played the demo and loved it! As a quick suggestion, I think that fighting common monsters isn't too rewarding in the current version: an enemy costs HPs and "weapon durability", but when defeated it does not give big rewards to the player: I'd try to tweak this a little bit.

(+2)

Great! I'm glad everything is working.

Thanks for the tip, I'll think about what I can do

(+1)

Finally finished it - boss scared the heck out of me :D Fantastic game.

(+2)

Thanks! And have fun running:)
